2019 New Year’s Resolutions

Hi loves! Hope everyone had a great holiday. I’m still on vacation so enjoying every minute of it! I already wrote my 2019 beauty resolutions so I figured I would add to it. I’m on a mission. Take a look at my 2019 New Year’s Resolutions.

1. Lose weight

2. Start working out 3x per week

3. Eat healthy 90% of the time- only cheating on weekends

4. Blow out my hair at least 1x per week

5. Save $5k and put in my savings account- and keep it there!

6. Stay away from toxic people

7. Take one vacation- by plane!

8. Get rid of things and don’t build up clutter!

My main takeaway from my beauty resolutions was... don’t buy unless I need it and it’s on sale AND only buy things I have tried before!

As a heads up...I’m trying to transition into cleaner living and that includes my beauty products. Next year you’ll see more beauty reviews...but it’ll be a mix of clean and conventional beauty products....I’m trying BUT I don’t want to break out and waste money trying new things.

What are your New Year’s Resolutions?

2019 New Year’s Resolutions

Hi Darlings,

Hope everyone’s enjoying the Holiday season! I am! I do need to get better about eating and drinking…but I am trying. It’s just so hard with all the parties and get togethers!!!!

As a makeup addict, I am sharing my New Year’s Resolutions with you all 😊
  1. No purchasing makeup unless I have used before
  2. Only buy makeup if it’s on sale
  3. No buying makeup unless I need to restock the product
  4. No visiting makeup stores
  5. No visiting counters unless for special event (wedding)

There’s nothing else I love more than getting my makeup done! I can spend hours (and hundreds of dollars) at beauty counters in one sitting. I am obsessed. In an effort to save money in 2019 and travel more…I am ending some of my bad habits! No more innocent browse through Sephora and Ulta. No more just asking for a few samples of new beauty products which will lead to a purchase…no more! I want to go to Italy, South Carolina and Mexico next year and that requires cash! Cheers to 2019 and making it the best year yet!

Here they are:

These are all absolutely the best of the best. I can't even tell you how many times I have repurchased. Are any of these your favorite?

Have a great week!!

My Acne Skincare Routine

Hi darlings,

I have blogged before about my regular everyday skincare routine but I do have to add additional products when my skin is acting up...I have been suffering with acne now for 3 years and it doesn’t seem to want to go away. I have found products that work for me and now know what I should stay away from.

Here are some tips:

1. Especially during the warmer months, I try not to wear foundation and if I do, it has to be very light. My pores clog very easily so full coverage foundations no longer work for my skin. (I miss you so much Estée Lauder Double Wear!!!I wear shades Tawny and Cashew as reference) Water-based foundations are the ones for me. This one by Chanel is my fave. (I mix shades 30 and 40)

2. I try not to wear any makeup on weekends! Again, sometimes I have to for events or work but if I’m just relaxing...no makeup! Every little bit helps and my skin and wallet thank me for it.

3. I can’t wear primer anymore. It’s so weird because I always used to wear primer!! I have very oily skin so primer is a must right? For me, I can’t wear it at all. There’s not one season that I can wear primer...no matter what brand or type or time of year...I get whiteheads and bumps instantly.

4. Do go for allergy testing! It’s worth it. I was trying to go completely clean or organic with my skincare and makeup and it turns out I’m allergic to plants. So every product that was plant based was making me breakout and I had no idea why. It’s worth seeing a specialist just to see if you acne is really an allergy to ingredients used in products.

Here’s my full morning acne routine:

1. Sulfur Cleanser- I use Avar (doctor prescribed)
2. Bioderma Sensibio H2O- I go through bottles and bottles of this stuff. Super gentle on the skin
3. Clindamycin (doctor prescribed)
4. Makeup with SPF- I use Chanel Les Beiges in shade medium. It is a bit oily/dewy for me but I rather be extra glowy than extra broken out.
5. Separate spf on my neck- I use Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen with SPF 40

Here’s my full night time routine:

1. Purity cleanser to remove makeup (I buy the 64 oz once a year from QVC)
2. CeraVe or Bioderma to remove any leftover makeup- I do this because I want to make sure the sulfur cleanser really gets into my skin and it’s not blocked by leftover makeup residue.
3. Sulfur cleanser- Avar- same as Morning (doctor prescribed)
4. Bioderma- same as Morning
5. Retin-A on face, neck and chest- this is doctor prescribed
6. IT Cosmetics Confidence Eye Cream- most importantly this hydrated and doesn’t make me break out!

Ugh I wish acne didn’t exist! Thank goodness I have found this routine to work for me. The trick is to use a routine consistently. No changing every 3 weeks like I used to. I know it’s difficult if you’re a makeup or skincare junkie but it’s a must to keep everything the same so if you do introduce a new product and have a reaction...you know what doesn’t work for you.

Thank you for reading!

My Current Skincare Routine

Happy Monday loves! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Just wanted to share my skincare routine staples. Quick and easy!

1. Makeup Removing Wipes to start! I layer on products and living in a major city, there's loads of pollution.

2. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser: I order the 64oz bottle from QVC when they offer it once per year. This is the best!

3. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser: Again, I am on my 6th to 8th bottle. I lost count. Most importantly...it doesn't have a fragrance and it also clears my skin because it's good at cleaning out my pores.

5. Retin-A 6%: this is from my dermatologist and it helps my skin SOOOO much!!

6. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion: No scent and won't clog your pores!!

7. IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream: I've been using this for almost a year now and it keeps my eyes looking good and doesn't break me out.

2x or 3x Weekly:

1. I'm obsessed with this Juice Beauty Apple Peel mask. Obsessed! It's a strong one so be careful you sensitive skin girls.

2. Josie Maran Whipped Argan Mask : not my favorite favorite like the Juice Beauty mask but it gets the job done.

3. I have been using this Olay scrub for over 5 years. I have tried so many others and I keep coming back to this one. Nothing else can beat it. My Mom got me hooked on it! It can burn a bit so be careful.

That's it! I do make a few product tweaks but I usually come back to these. They are must haves.

What products do you love?

2019 Beauty New Years’ Resolutions

So I know this may seem a bit weird…but yes, I make New Years’ Resolutions and for the first time ever…I am going to make Beauty ones too.

I am admittedly beauty obsessed. I am an addict. I have makeup brushes stored away from years ago, I have 6 foundations that are brand new, I have multiple blushes from Armani and Chanel that have barely been touched, I keep order QVC beauty TSVs, etc. etc. etc. The makeup will probably expire before I even get to use them. This is only makeup…don’t let me get started on skincare! Scrubs, masks, cleansers and blah blah blah are all over the place. I need to start saving money and actually stick to a budget.

I want to do two things in 2019: travel more and start saving for a house. I can't do it if I am wasting money!

Here are my Resolutions:

1. No buying makeup unless it's on sale

2. No buying makeup until I am out of a product

3. No returning makeup

4. Only allowed to purchase products I have already tried. No trying new products. This is mostly due to my acne and I break out by a lot of problems. Only using known to work for me products will save me money and save me from breakouts.

5. I must stick to my budget. I have set a number to spend in 2019 and I must stick to it. $6k is my budget. I know this is an extremely high number. Trust me I know BUT it includes everything from makeup, haircuts, to shaving cream. Everything involving my personal care is in this budget.

Do you think I can do it? I'm a little nervous but I know once I set my mind to something, I can do it!

YSL Touche Éclat Concealer Review

Hello darlings!

It’s still warm here in NYC! Thank goodness! I know I promised to get back into the blogging habit and I failed again. Hahaha. Sorry. Ok anyway, I’m back!

This morning as I was applying my makeup, I officially ran out of my fave YSL Touche Eclat concealer! (I wear shade #3) This is my second pen I have gone through and I will definitely be repurchasing again. This is also a Meghan Markle favorite.

It truly does what it claims to do! It brightens, it highlights, and it has no glitter. It’s very natural and luminous. On a daily basis, I have been wearing my makeup a lot lighter. Due to my fear of acne coming back, I wear a light foundation and tend to use a lighter hand will all my beauty products.

This YSL concealer is super light, not cakey, and I almost feel like I am applying skincare under my eyes. Thank goodness I don’t really have bags or dark circles so this light formula is perfect for me. (I know my friends with my problematic under eye areas can’t use this product) This is my perfect cooler weather concealer. I think it is a little too moisturizing for me when it’s over 100 degrees out. But most importantly, it doesn’t make me break out at all- winter or summer.

Final Decision: Would I repurchase? 100%. I miss it already! On to Nars, Chanel, and Tarte. Let's see how I feel about those.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Due to fear of breaking out, I don’t wear primer or sunscreen on face

Taking a Break

Hello darlings…

Taking a Break || Musings of a Gossip
via
Hope everyone’s having a great summer and is ready to walk into Fall refreshed and read to go… I ended up taking a break from blogging this Summer. I wasn’t expecting to but I seriously had no ambition to write a thing…like not even one thing. Most of my time, I try new beauty products and post reviews. But lately I have been really struggling to find products I am in love with…and doesn’t break me out. That’s the key factor…doesn’t break me out.

My BIGGEST challenges by far this summer has been foundations and sunscreens. I have no idea why finding the perfect foundation and sunscreen has turned into such a huge project. My sensitive-allergy loving-oily- acne prone skin just hasn’t been liking anything lately.

Anyway, I do have a few makeup and skincare products I have been lovely lately so I’ll be sure to post some reviews soon…

Happy Tuesday and chat soon.

June Beauty Empties

June Beauty Empties || Musings of a Gossip

Hi darlings!!

Hope all of my American readers had a great Fourth of July!

I know this post is super late but I’ve been on vacation this past week, enjoying life and not on my computer!

Here are my used up June beauty goodies!

1. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion: I bought these little travel versions for when I go back Upstate to visit my family. I don’t use this on my face because I’m scared to change from my beloved CeraVe but this was amazing on my body! It rubs into my skin so smoothly and doesn’t leave any residue. I know dermatologists recommend this brand and I have super sensitive and oily skin...this is perfect. I haven’t repurchased because I have so many lotions and creams to use up but I will again in the future.

2. IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream: I’m a huge fan of IT Cosmetics and I’m obsessed with this eye cream. This is my 3rd jar and I already repurchased. It’s so hydrating and doesn’t make me breakout. I LOVE it and highly recommend it. I tell everyone about this gem! I use it just at night religiously. In the morning, I don't use any eye creams because I find that my mascara runs and my concealer melts. I have to figure out of tricks to prevent this. If you're shopping for a new eye cream, try this one!

3. Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint SPF 30: As I’ve said before...I’m obsessed with everything Chanel and this tinted moisturizer is the best. It was just released less than three months ago and I’m already hooked. It works great with my sensitive skin, never makes me breakout and is so lightweight. It has SPF 30 so it perfect for summer. I usually just use this as my everyday foundation. This is extremely light coverage so I apply two layers to get a little more coverage. I have crazy oily skin so it’s important not to clog my pores or use a heavy formula during the warmer months. I went through this bottle in two months and I already purchased a new bottle. It’s that good. IT Cosmetics will be releasing a matte oil free version of their cult classic CC Cream so let's see if it can compete with this!

4. bareMinerals Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara: I have been using this mascara for the past 8 years. I’ve cheated a little here and there but I’ve been pretty much consistent. I was so upset to hear they discounted this gem. So I went to the store and stocked up! I bought 6 tubes. Hahaha. They still have it available on clearance so stock up now before they are all gone! I only have two tubes left. After this, I’ll go buy something new. I'll probably go back to Dior's Overcurl. It was great with my oily skin and doesn’t leave me looking like a raccoon.

5. BioDerma Sensibio H2O: This is my 6th bottle and I’ve already purchased two more! It's great for removing mascara and toning my skin. It works really well with my oily skin and has never made me breakout. I highly recommend it. This is perfect if you still suffer from acne breakouts...key factor: it's extremely gentle and that's what your breakouts need...nothing harsh.

6. Spa Technologies Flower Acid Peel: My local spa recommended I use this about one a week. I do get monthly facials so this was to help in-between visits. Personally, I prefer Juice Beauty Green Apple Full Strength Peel way better. I feel like the Spa Technologies is way too gentle for me. Juice Beauty really makes my skin show a difference. I have gone through 4 jars already and make sure I have 2 jars as backup. I use it every other day or at least twice a week all year long. It's the best mask I've used but it's a strong peel. If you burn easily...please get the mild version. My skin is used to it so I have built a tolerance. This will make your skin burn and turn red so please be careful and as a professional before using. It's definitely worth it though. This Flower Acid? I'll skip.

I'm so proud of myself for using up product. I deserve a medal! hahaha. Let's see how much I can use up in July!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Preventing Migraines

Preventing Migraines || Musings of a Gossip

Hi darlings!

Long time no chat! Last week was a tough one for me. About three years ago, I started getting migraines on a regular basis. Never before had I ever experienced a migraine before then and boy they aren’t pleasant. I’m not sure what’s causing it but I do have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow for an annual physical and I’m visiting an allergist on Friday. I heard allergies can reveal itself in different forms including migraines...not sure if that's true but I am checking! Also, about three years ago, I had a Vitamin D deficiency and I remember taking a 50,000 mg pill just once a week and it made a huge difference with my migraines and acne! Let’s just say 33 has been a bit rough and I should have gotten a physical a lot sooner. Am I the only one scared of doctors??

This might be tmi but oh well...I’m warning you. Last Thursday, I started feeling the beginning stages of a migraine. When I get a migraine, they usually build for a few days and they last for 3 days and on the 4th day...my head feels sore. Sometimes it's a full week from beginning to end. .Does anyone else go through this? Anyway, so last Thursday I started to feel the pain and by Saturday, I was vomiting and in bed in complete darkness. Everything was bothering me. Lights, sounds, smells, everything.

So I’m in no shape or form a medical doctor! I’m only trying these preventative migraine tips to see if they help me in any way. Even the slightest bit of less pain is helpful. Essentially I have to do whatever my doctors tell me to do BUT I have been trying some new things and hopefully they help make my migraines be a thing of the past.

Preventing Migraines || Musings of a Gossip

I have to be truthful....

1. I hate water. I barely drink water daily and I have tried everything from getting a pretty bottle to using a straw to adding fruit. I hate it. If you give me a water bottle, I'll take a sip and then water a plant.

2. I was on birth control for my acne. I was taking Orthotricyclen since November but I threw it away on Saturday because I was so upset.

3. I love drinking a glass of Pinot Grigio every night after work. I light a candle, sit on my sofa, and watch my fave reality show or YouTube videos. (Please don't judge)

4. I can definitely eat better...less fast foods and more veggies. (I'm obsessed with Chipotle)

5. I stopped working out...I got lazy honestly. No other excuse except laziness.

I’m not 100% sure if any of these things contributed to my migraines but I personally think they did. I mean everyone knows water is important! Also, diet and exercise is super important to your health. I’m not a spring chicken anymore and need to take better care of myself.

Preventing Migraines || Musings of a Gossip

So since Monday, I have been doing the following until I see my doctors...

1. Drinking way more than 8 glasses of water a day! It’s hot and humid in Manhattan at the moment and I’m outside a lot. Time to really hydrate!

2. I’m drinking ginger tea everyday. People have said ginger tea helps to improve brain function and keeps inflammation down...

3. I started drinking daily green juices! Trader Joe's makes this green juice that's amazing

Preventing Migraines || Musings of a Gossip

4. Started taking multivitamins.

5. Eating spinach! (Surprisingly, I love spinach)

6. Order this starter kit from Welleco

7. Got Botox. (It's supposed to help) I got 48 units injected.

8. Essential oils. I'm using peppermint and lavender. When I am feeling stressed, I rub the peppermint oil on my wrists and temples. I bought this set.

9. Yoga. I signed up for 6 months at Laughing Lotus in Manhattan.

10. Stay cool. It's important for me not to get overheated. I keep the AC on and wear tank tops.

Preventing Migraines || Musings of a Gossip

11. No strong smells. I love love love my Chanel foundations and perfumed lotions...at the moment, I can't handle any smells. Moving forward, I may have to get all my makeup and beauty products unscented. I hope no but it may be the case!

12. No alcohol. (tears) I have to save wine for special occasions.

13. No diet coke- Again... I have to save this for special occasions. (Internal sobbing)

Like I said before, I’m not a medical doctor and of course I’ll listen to my doctors’ advice when I see them later this week. I just thought I would get a head start since I don’t want another migraine to get me this week! I’ll definitely write a follow up post in a week with advice, updates and how I am doing with my plan.

Do you suffer from migraines? What helps?

Great Summer Read: The Marriage Lie by Kimberly

Great Summer Read: The Marriage Lie by Kimberly || Musings of a Gossip

Happy Monday loves! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I finished The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle last week and I had to share my thoughts with you all. I literally could not stop reading it. I was reading it on my subway ride to work and I swear I almost missed my stop! At the last minute, I realized it was my time to get off! Yes, that’s how good this book is!

So just to give you a quick rundown…

Iris and Will are celebrating their 7 year wedding anniversary and are trying to have a baby. Their marriage and life together is absolutely perfect and they couldn’t be any more in love. Will has to travel to Florida for work and the most devastating thing happens…the plane crashes and everyone on board dies. Naturally, Iris is heartbroken and doesn’t know how she’ll go on without Will. Thank goodness she has a wonderful support system in her friends and family and they help her to pick up the pieces…but once Iris starts learning more information about the crash and where Will was headed, Iris soon realizes that her marriage was based on all lies. Will isn’t the man he betrayed to be…and there’s a lot more to this story...and it's mostly ugly.

There was so many plot twists and turns! It makes it super hard to stop reading! I felt so bad for Iris because she’s just lost her soulmate and finds out he wasn’t who she thought he was at all. How would you react? Do you mourn the person you spent over 7 years of your life with? Or do you become bitter and angry because of the lies? (and the mess he’s forcing you to clean up for him!)

Since beach time is coming up...reading The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Belle is the best way to spend a day in the sand and sun. It’s a must read!

Hope you all enjoy. xo

Four Setting Powders on Oily Skin

Four Setting Powders on Oily Skin || Musings of a Gossip

Hello lovely peeps!

Today I’m sharing my thoughts on setting powders! I have crazy oily skin due to all the acne medications I use so I’m always on the hunt for products that will stop me from looking like a total grease ball or making my foundation transfer. To be 100% transparent...I haven’t solved this mystery completely. I’m still trying different primer/foundation/setting powder combos.

These are the current 4 setting powders I’m using:

Giorgio Armani Micro-Fil Translucent Loose Setting Powder || Musings of a Gossip

1. Giorgio Armani Micro-Fil Translucent Loose Setting Powder: Armani and Chanel are my two preferred beauty brands. My dermatologist doesn’t approve but we won’t tell her lol. I love the slight shimmer to this powder. It’s not too shimmery or greasy looking. It gives you a subtle glow. Every time I wear this with my Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (Shade #6), I get MAJOR compliments! I love using it under my eyes as well because I’m starting to get lines there so this doesn’t cake, settle or make me look older. I get the JLo glow!

2. Giorgio Armani Neo Nude Compact Foundation: This product was just launched about two months ago and I’m obsessed. It’s similar to the top powder but this comes in a compact for touch ups and it has a slight tint to it. I wear shade #3. Again, I get major compliments when I use this but one down side...I’ve used it everyday for about 3 weeks and I can see the pan already. It’s like $58 so I’m a little upset I’m almost done with the compact! I don’t think I’m using too much but maybe I shouldn’t be using as a setting powder? It looks amazing tho...it's lightweight, finely milled, and blends easily!

3. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder: This is the cult classic with a major following. Honestly, I like this powder but it’s not my absolute favorite. I mostly use this in the summer or warmer days because it makes my face matte. But I find that I sometimes look too dry if I use it in the winter. I also create my own little mix with this and my Armani powder so I have the best of both world. For oily skin girls all year round, this is a must have product.

4. Chanel Les Beige Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF15: So I love anything Chanel beauty. Love love love. I know my dermatologist doesn’t want me using anything with fragrance but surprisingly, this doesn’t make me break out at all. Nothing from Chanel does! I have no idea why my sensitive acne prone skin loves it or maybe it knows not to mess around with Chanel! Hahaha. I use the #30 powder to set my face but I don’t use under the eyes. For some reason, I only like loose powders for that. I also use #50 as a bronzer. It lasts soooo long. I have had this for a year or more!

For all of these setting powders, I apply using this brush. Loveeeeeee. I am still on the hunt for the perfect setting powder because I still have to touch up throughout the day. Am I asking for too much? Apply once and be done with it??

What setting powders are using? Which do you think I should try next?

May Beauty Empties

May Beauty Empties || Musings of a Gossip

I always get soooo excited when I actually finish a product. To be honest, I waste so much money because 99% of the time, I give away a beauty product before I used it up. My friends benefit greatly because they get my leftovers...but my wallet always feels guilty! I made a promise to myself in 2018 that I was going to finish every product before I give it away. I don't have money to waste! (I admittedly have failed a few times...)

Oh dear...I truly can't believe how quickly time is flying by! By the time I realize it...it'll be Christmas!! It's almost time to celebrate July 4th! Insane.

Anyway...another month and another batch of of used up beauty products! I don't have too many products this month but I'll still share the deeds on how everything went...

1. Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation: I’m obsessed with everything Chanel...their makeup is amazing and their skincare is as well. Despite having sensitive skin and for Chanel beauty to be heavily fragranced...for some reason it doesn’t bother my skin! It’s amazing quality! I have gone through a few bottles of the Perfection Lumiere Velvet (I wear shade 30) and it’s one of my favorites. It’s lightweight, smells amazing, keeps my face matte and is perfect to use all year long. I will definitely continue to purchase this one and I love how easily buildable it is. I also love how the small plastic bottle is easy to travel with and you don’t have to worry about it breaking! There’s only one downside...it’s $50 a bottle and it only lasts me about two months if I use it everyday. I try to buy it at Macy’s or Lord and Taylor when they offer 15% off but it’s still a pretty penny. For me, it’s totally work the price though because it’s pricey to deal with a full acne breakout! I also love the Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. You can’t go wrong with either one.

2. Avar: This cleanser is from my dermatologist and it’s my second bottle. I already filled my prescription for a third refill. Summer is brutal on my skin. (July on a NYC subway isn’t what my skin likes.) No matter how hard I try...dirt, oil, sweat, and whatever other bad stuff clogs my pores and makes me breakout. Sulfur is an old school trick to keeping your face clear. It tends to dry out my skin so I only use it every other day. It’s a must have for me. Plus it’s $20 after my insurance is billed so it’s reasonably priced and I know it works. They do offer different levels of strength but I use 10% sodium sulfacetamide and 5% sulfur. I used to use Plextion cleanser which is the same thing but for some reason the price increased to $250 with my insurance. Ask your pharmacist to help you find alternatives if one brand is too expensive.

3. Giorgio Armani Neo Nude Compact Foundation: I’m obsessed with this and use it as a setting powder. It gives my skin this flawless glowing look. I instantly think of JLo! Glowy and dewy in an amazing way. (Not sweaty at all) It also adds the slightest hint of color (I wear shade #3)...BUT major downside...I’ve only had this compact for about a month and there’s only like a three days worth left. I don’t think I’m overusing because I get SOOO many compliments and no one says I look cakey. I’m holding off on repurchasing unless I have a super crazy special event to attend. This powder also doesn’t make me break out which is a plus...but due to budget reasons, I think I’ll stick to the loose powder version. It creates the same look but has lasted me longer than a month! Have any of you tried it? I would love to know your thoughts.

4. Clindamycin 1% Gel: This is another prescription product from my dermatologist and I’m obsessed. I tried going a few months without my dermatologist prescription meds and my skin was a mess. I do prefer the lotion version over the gel version because I feel the gel makes me look more oily. So I use this product in the morning under my makeup. It helps to keep pores from getting clogged and it kills bacteria. It’s not an overnight fix but after 30 days of use, I noticed the difference.

Let's see what I can use up in June!

QVC's TSV: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue 7-Piece Set

Happy Friday loves!! I'm soooo looking forward to this long holiday weekend! We deserve 3 days off! Yay! Today I am going to chat about one of my favorite topics...makeup!

I don’t know about you but I’m obsessed with QVC’s makeup Today Special Values. I’m in love with QVC in general but they especially offer amazing deals when it comes to beauty. You get such amazing and sometimes exclusive pieces at such a great discounted rate. Since the Today Special Value price is already expired, I'll still link the items because it's still an amazing deal.

QVC's TSV: bareMinerals Complexion Rescue 7-Piece Set

Here’s what I picked up during last week’s Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue 7-Piece Collection:

1. Vio-Lit Glow Primer: This primer is brand new and I think at the moment, it may be exclusive to QVC. I actually stopped using primer on a daily bases because it was just too much product on my face. I find this primer to be a bit on the thicker side....I apply it with my fingers but I really have to work it into my skin. It's more cream feeling opposed to a more thinner lotion...It does have a violet tint to it but it goes away instantly. I like it but I think it was too much for my sensitive skin. I personally skip this step unless I am going out to a party or somewhere fancy and I need my makeup to be bullet proof. For everyday...I need to keep the whiteheads away.

2. Gen Nude Eyeshadow and Primer: I am allll about cream eyeshadows lately. I am always running late for work and I want a fast and easy makeup routine. This eyeshadow/primer can just be applied with your fingers and is perfect for an everyday Day Look.

3. Completion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream: My Mom and I bought this product as soon as it was launched a few years ago. Thank goodness this doesn't make me breakout and it has SPF 30. It's perfect for summertime. Most times I use this as a base and set it with my bareMinerals original loose powder foundation. If you like a natural light look, this is for you. I personally like the amount of coverage it provides but it's definitely not full coverage. Perfect for beachy summer days. I wear the shade ginger.

4. Original Mineral Veil Finishing Powder: Again, I love this powder because it doesn't make me breakout. I am able to use it all over my face and even under my eyes to set my concealer. It's light and won't clog your pores. It's translucent and won't change the color of your foundation. Honestly, I am sooo oily that this doesn't keep me completely matte during the day but not many things do. This is great for you acne prone beauty lovers out there.

5. Loose Bisque Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 20: The older I get, the more obsessed I am becoming with SPF. I want to delay the signs of aging as much as I can. This actually doesn't look heavy under my eyes and you just need a little product and don't forget to blend! I feel like that's the trick to using bareMinerals...you need to blend blend and blend. You can also use this to cover up blemishes on your face AND you can also use it for eyeshadow. I absolutely love when you can use one product for multiple purposes. For a busy lady on the go like myself, speed and easiness is key.

6. Moxie Lipgloss in Standout: This shade is exclusive to QVC. It's a gorgeous color that makes you look naturally lovely without being overboard. I must admit, bareMinerals lipglosses aren't my favorite because I feel like they are too sticky for my taste but considering it comes in the set...I'll use it.

7. Soft Focus & Eye Brush: I love this brush but it's another QVC exclusive. It's easy to use and I personally use it for powder, concealer, and blush. I love it for it's flexibility. I like bareMinerals brushes. They are worth the price and lately have been lasting longer than my more expensive brushes. (This is a topic though for another day.) This is a brush you can throw in your makeup bag, use it in the bathroom at work and can achieve the perfect makeup look.

Overall, I think this set was worth the $56.94 price tag. I will use every single product and I think it's brilliant for summer. Yet again...QVC does it again. Did you buy this set?

Have a great holiday weekend all and stay safe!
