Week 13 Accutane Update

Hello loves!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I was at The Met yesterday and walked through the “Camp: Notes on Fashion” exhibit. It was brilliant and I’m obsessed! Yesterday was the perfect day!

Anyway here’s to another Accutane update. I took a little break because I really didn’t have any updates. I was purging like crazy and had cystic pimples large enough to look like bug bites. It was horrible. It didn’t matter what makeup or skincare products I used. I really thought Accutane wasn’t working for me.

Thank goodness I started to see real improvement around three and a half months. It has really just been two weeks since my skin started behaving. The only thing I changed was my foundation. I’m now using Too Faced Born this way. All other products have stayed the same.

I’m still not sure if I’m going to extend treatment by a month but this treatment isn’t a quick fix. Three and a half months have been a skin mess but things are starting to look up!

Enjoy your week! ❤️

July Used Up Beauty Products

Hello darlings! I don’t even understand how time is passing by this quickly! It’s insane!!!

Since I’m on Accutane...I haven’t really been trying any new beauty products except foundation. Is a good foundation impossible to find???? I’m unhappy with everything!  Every single product used up is an oldie for me and I’ve used before! Anyway...here’s my July empties!

1. IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream: I’m obsessed with this eye cream since I started using it over a year ago. I have gone through 4 of these and already have a new backup! I can’t be without it. It doesn’t make me breakout and it’s so hydrating. I only use it at night though...I have recommended it to so many people...it’s a must.

2.  CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion: I love this for my face and whole body. It has no scent, doesn’t make me breakout, doesn’t trigger a migraine and is super hydrating. I’ll probably never stop using this. I love how easy it is to use since it has a pump.

3. Chanel La Solution 10 de Chanel: This is my second bottle. I started using this more recently on my face since Accutane has really been keeping breakouts at bay but usually I just use on my neck and chest. This formula was created for sensitive skin and has no fragrance. As we know, Chanel products usually have fragrance...so this is a bit difference. Also, it’s pricey at $110 but it lasted me almost an entire year! I will definitely repurchase.

4. Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Powder in Shade 30: So when I was originally sold this powder, the salesperson told me it was a setting powder. I stopped using it because it keep making me look orange! After going to a Chanel counter at Nordstrom, I was told it was a bronzer! That’s why I was turning orange! So this is shade 30...I would probably go a shade darker. So I’ll purchase shade 40. There’s only one thing holding me back from repurchasing...the fragrance. Sometimes when I’m having a headache or a migraine...the smell sets me off...but it doesn’t make me breakout. I’ll probably repurchase because I’m too lazy to try something new...should I try Hourglass?

And that’s it! Hopefully I’ll have more empties next month!

Have a great weekend! ❤️

My NSale Beauty Picks

Hello darlings!

I shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last Friday and picked up a few goodies! Below are all my purchases :)

1. Lancôme Bi-Facil Eye Makeup Remover: I’m usually not loyal to an eye makeup remover. I just went through 5 bottles of Chanel eye makeup remover so since this is on sale, I figured I would pick this up. It’s important for me to use a good eye makeup remover because I wear a lot of eye liner and mascara and I don’t want to age my eyes by tugging when I’m trying to remove my makeup. I want something easy and effective so my eyes stay looking young!

2. BeautyBlender Makeup Sponge Set: To be honest, I go back and forth with the beautybender. I get concerned about bacteria building since I have bad skin issues, but I love the natural looks it when applying my foundation. This is such a great price though that I needed to pick it up! I also love the cover so my makeup bag doesn’t get dirty! Plus it’s glitter...you can’t go wrong!

3. Donna Karen Cashmere Mist Deodorant: I have been using this deodorant for the past year now. Nothing else works like this. I used to use Always roll on deodorant for 15 years but then it stopped working for me. Cashmere Mist got me through 100 degree weather at Disney World! So this three piece set will last me until the next Anniversary Sale.

4. Slip for Beauty Sleep Silk Pillowcases: I’ve been wanting to try these for the past year! They help prevent wrinkles, frizzy hair and acne! Let’s see how it does! They are still a bit pricey but hopefully they work!

5. La Mer Mini Miracles Set: I have heard soooo many great things about this brand. I really wanted to try the moisturizer. Before spending hundreds of dollars, its get to try mini versions. La Mer is an investment. Sooo many celebrities use it as well. Come on La Mer! Save me from wrinkles!

Have you shopped the Sale yet?

Enjoy the weekend!!! ❤️

Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation Review

Hi darlings,

Long time now chat! I’m now almost 12 weeks into Accutane and finally so much has changed. I’m finally starting to feel better about my skin...more on that later.

I’m sharing my review about Oxgenetix foundation. This was recommended by my dermatologist. I know it has a huge celebrity fan base and as soon as I started wearing this foundation, I have never received as many compliments on my skin and I did when I got this.

Pros:

1. It’s anti-aging foundation! So many beneficial ingredients.

2. Created by doctors!

3. It won’t clog your pores so it won’t make me breakout.

4. Most importantly...it’s vegan.

5. I love that it’s oil-free

6. It comes with a pump! My beloved Estée Lauder Double Wear and my Nars Sheer Glow are pricey and don’t come with pumps. I always end up pouring out too much.

Cons:

1. It’s super expensive! It’s $66 for a half an ounce! That’s have the size of a traditional foundation. Sorry but I don’t earn Kourtney Kardashian’s paycheck.

2. The shade range isn’t great. I have to mix colors.

3. It takes a few layers to build up full coverage and with the hefty price tag, you’ll go through an entire bottle in less than a month.

4. It’s not easily accessible to buy. You can’t just run out to Sephora or Ulta. You need to by directly from their site, certain spas or Dermstore. So it’ll take a bit of time! You most stock up so you don’t run out.

Final verdict: Would I purchase this foundation again? Probably not. It’s not because I hate it though. It’s purely because of the price tag and the amount of product I need to use in order to achieve the perfect look. Again, I received SOOOOO many compliments but I can’t justify the price. It was worth a shot though....
