My Migraine Triggers

Hello Darlings. Hope everyone's doing well today.

Migraines. I hate the very word. I have been suffering from migraines for the past 5 years. When I was in my 20s, I barely had headaches but when I entered my 30s...hello severe pain!

I have tried so many different things for my migraines. Magnesium supplements daily, 100 ounces of water, iron pills, eating meat again, seeing a holistic doc, seeing my regular doc, and etc etc.

After years of seeing my regular physician and getting nowhere, this past January, I decided to see a holistic doctor. I spent $450 for my initial visit and had bloodwork done. It came back that my iron levels were severely low. I had been a vegetarian for over 15 years and my body was no longer getting the nutrients it needed. I was also borderline diabetic so major changes needed to be made. I went on a health kick!

Based on the recommendation from my holistic doctor, I started taking 20 pills per day. I was taking vitamin d, magnesium, probiotics, fish oil, iron, and blood sugar regulators. I took them daily and rarely missed a pill. I also increased my water intake a great deal and started using essential oils. The biggest change I made was...I started eating meat again. This was really hard for me and I spent a great deal of time crying over this. But my health was failing and I needed to make the changes.

After 6 months, I was still suffering from monthly migraines. The pain didn't decrease and the intensity was as powerful as ever. About 2 months ago, I was vomiting, dizzy and extremely sick from a migraine and that's when I said enough is enough. I instantly made an appointment with a neurologist. I really don't know why I was so scared and why I dealt with so many years of pain. After having a virtual chat with him, he prescribed me two different medications. I am only to take the pills when I feel the migraine coming.

These pills completely changed my life. One weekend, I felt the pain coming and I popped a pill and within 20 minutes, I was better. I must admit, I am a little disappointed I wasn't able to pinpoint what's causing the migraines. I really wanted to find the problem so I can come up with a solution, I didn't want to pop pills. BUT I can't deal with the pain anymore.

Here's my #1 trigger....Fragrance. I am super sensitive to smells. My neurologist said this is quite common. I can smell a horrible scent and have no issues, but if I smell something else...wham! I can get hit hard with pain. So now I am really careful when choosing makeup, skincare, hair care, perfumes and lotions. Even candles and essential oils! I prefer to go fragrance free but sometimes it's hard.

Here's some additional things that help or bring on a migraine:
  • Water: Even though it didn't solve my migraine issue, water is extremely important to your overall health. My body feels so much better and I have so much more energy when I drink 100 ounces daily. Plus my skin has never looked better.
  • MSG: When I order food, I make sure they do not add MSG. It's an instant headache for me.
  • Wine: Reds are not my friend. Even one sip will bring on pain. I only drinks white or rose wine.
  • Exercise: It's super important for me to exercise at least 5x per week. It also helps me mentally.
  • Sleep: I never gave sleep enough credit until I started sleeping at least 8 hours per day. Your body needs to recharge. You cannot run on empty.
  • Vitamins: I am going to continue to take the vitamins my holistic doctor recommended. It helped with my energy levels and I noticed a difference with my day to day health.
  • Coffee: I am now only a tea drinker. I stay away from coffee. For some reason, my taste buds no longer enjoy coffee.
  • Diet Coke: I love a cold diet coke. I will drink it as a treat but overall, I stay away. It is made of too many chemicals and my body can't deal with it.
  • BHT: This was a surprise to me! I really had never really heard of BHT. The first time I thought of it is when I used a foundation for the first time (Too Faced) and I had a headache within an hour. I just felt completely off. So I tried it for two more days and felt off! I then switched back to bareMinerals and I was fine! So weird!! Since then, I stay away from anything with BHT.
Please note: I am not recommendation medications or pills. I recommend you speak to your doctor. I am only sharing what helped me so you can possibly discuss these solutions with your medical professional.

Positivity Quote #4

Oh Dolly! How I love you! This global pandemic has made me slow down and think a lot. So many people (including myself) are really struggling. Some people have lost loved ones, other miss their friends, some miss their jobs, and I think we all miss our old lives.

Overall, we don't know what others are truly going through behind closed doors. Just be nice. Even if you're frustrated and upset...don't take it out on someone else. We are all in this together and we need to support one another.

I know I can always use an extra smile...Dolly knows what she's talking about. xx

Positivity Quote #3

Boy, am I really trying to remember this daily. Let's just say, Coronavirus has probably been a negative for everyone. It's unfortunate that so many people have lost their jobs, people aren't traveling or visiting their family and friends. Our normal routines have shifted massively. I have been working from home since March!

But I am really trying to stay positive throughout all of this. I have been spending so much time with my parents, I have learned who my real friends are and I have slowed down quite a bit. I was always go go go and not really sure what I was accomplishing.

Life is going to throw us many curveballs. Hopefully we never go through something like Covid again, but we have to learn how to go with the flow....or at least I keep reminding myself.

Positivity Quote #2

Happy Sunday darlings! Hope you're all having a great weekend!

This quote really hit me because this is what I keep reminding myself. The last three weeks have been really rough on me and sometimes it's easier to think life is just bad. It's not. It's important to breathe, close your eyes, and take a moment to calm yourself down. It's so easy to get worked up and let your mind take over. I am the Queen of Overthinking. I am just to enjoy moments more. Sometimes don't think of the whole picture but it's easier to think of moments. Take the day as one moment at a time. You got this!

Positivity Quote #1

Hello darlings. Me again tonight. :)

I have to be honest...I’ve been struggling a lot lately. Never in a million years did I think Corona and quarantine would last this long. The past month has been especially rough on my mental health. I have been experiencing panic attacks and depression. I’m struggling to get through my day to day activities and have been waking up in a sweaty panic. I cry in the drop of a hat. I just can’t wait for normal life to be back.

I was just told on Friday that I’ll be working from home until January 2021. So overall, change needs to be made. I’ve called my doctor and I have my first therapy appointment on Wednesday night. I’m not embarrassed to say I need help. It’s  embarrassing to not do anything about it.

I also decided to post a positive quote everyday in my month of August. It’s to remind myself that everything will be ok. The world will get better. My life will get better. I will see my friends again. I will go to Happy Hour again! I will go to the gym again! I need to find my own happiness. Along with sharing my quote, I’m going to share how I’m feeling. It’s good for me to express myself and just “get it out”.

Get ready for some positivity! I’m sure we can all use it! Right now, my priority is to improve my mental health. xx

Beauty Products Used Up in July

Hello darlings!

As quarantine continues, I haven’t really worn makeup at all. I wear it once a month usually but my skincare game has been hardcore. I’m taking really good care of my face but a little lazy with my body. I need to get better with that!

Here’s are products I finished up in July! (I can’t believe it’s August already!)

  1. Laneige lip mask: I bought this last July  when I was on Accutane. It didn’t help me much when I was on the medication but it helped saved my regular winter lips. Is it worth the $20? I would say no. I’ll just use my Aquaphor and call it a day. But it was good enough to use up.
  2. Elta MD UV Clear Sunscreen: I have this on auto delivery from Dermstorm. I have used this for about two years now. It’s perfect to use while on Accutane and for everyday use, but it does leave flashback. I wore this alone on July 4th and I look like I’m wearing a white mask in our family photos. Not a fan. So I need to find something better when I know I’ll be photographed.
  3. IT Cosmetics No 50 Serum: I love IT Cosmetics skincare and I have a lot of their products on QVC auto-delivery. I’ve gone through about 3 bottles of this gem and I have another waiting. It leaves my skin baby soft and is great to wear under makeup. I highly recommend.
  4. Environ Focus Care Radiance Intense C Boost: I ordered this gem from Rescue Spa and I would repurchase. It’s a great vitamin C serum that didn’t make me break out and had no strong fragrance. Odors bother me on my face and I was absolutely fine with this. I would repurchase. My skin looks bright and hydrated!
  5. BIOLOGIQUE Recherche Lait VIO O2 Cleanser: I am obsessed with this brand and I think it’s worth every single penny. It’s pricey but when I switch to something cheaper, I’m never happy. This gem is great. I’m not used to using a cleanser that you rub into your skin and wipe off with a washcloth instead of rinsing with water but it’s worth the change. My skin never feels tight or dry after I use this. There’s no strong odor. I already repurchased. I LOVE.

I feel like I’m going through products a lot more slowly because I don’t wear makeup so don’t have so many steps to do! I’m also getting better about sticking to what I like. Lately, I have been having a hard time with scents. I do not like anything strong at all. It’s hard to tell obviously when you order online but I’m trying to really do my research.

Happy August and enjoy the rest of the weekend! ❤️

Staying Positive During Quarantine

Hello darlings!!

Hope all is well and everyone has had a great weekend!

Quarantine! I cannot believe I am still using the word. Back in March, when they said NYC had to lockdown and we were officially quarantined, I never imagined it would last well into the summer. I literally thought after a month, life would resume back to normal. Well... we obviously haven't.

I can honestly say my mental health has been on a roller coaster ride. I have mentally been all over the place. I have had a few ups but mostly I have been down. I am trying to stay positive as much as I can and here are some things that are helping me.

1. Routine! You need to create a new routine for yourself. The first two weeks of lockdown, I had NO routine and was doing everything freestyle. Wrong move. Now I have a daily routine for myself and it has helped me so much.

2. Exercise! Working out has been SO helpful. Staying active relieves stress, makes me feel better about myself (pat on the back) and it makes me get fresh air after being cooped up all day.

3. Sleep! Having a good rest is extremely important. Rest is how our body's regroup and recharge. We can't breakdown.

4. Hobbies! Try to start some of your favorite hobbies. I love reading but during "normal" life I get too busy. I started reading again and I am loving it. I am pursuing a passion and feel productive. I have also increased my skincare game sooo much. Skincare is a hobby for me. lol.

5. Be easy on yourself! We are all being hard on ourselves. Take a breathe and don't beat yourself up if you decide to sit on the sofa and watch Netflix all day. If that brings you joy, then do it! We have never gone through something like this before. Do what you feel is best for you.

6. Family & Friends! It's so important to stay in contact with your support group. I have been calling my friends and having FaceTime sessions like crazy! I don't even talk to my friends this much during normal life. lol. We share laughs and have such a good chat. We are in this together!

I'm praying this is all over sooner rather than later! I miss hugs and I miss seeing my friends in-person. It's important we follow the government guidelines so we can be with our loved ones soon.

xx

Lancer Caviar Lime Acid Peel Review

Hello darlings and Happy Sunday!

We are still in quarantine here in New York. I must admit, I’ve been pretty lazy when it comes to my nails and hair during the last day 13 weeks but my skincare routine has definitely been amazing. I’m double cleansing, moisturizing, scrubbing, masking, and doing everything in-between.

Back in the beginning of the year, I purchased Lancer’s Caviar Lime Acid Peel mask because I love their Polish scrub so much. I purchased from QVC and the deal was amazing.

The Acid Peel is infused with 10% Glycolic Acid, 10% Phytic Acid and Retinol. I’m absolutely obsessed with acids and retinol. I have been using both for years because my skin is oily, breakouts out easily and is sensitive. My pores tend to clog easily so I use a lot of acids to try to keep them clear. This mask does the trick!

Unlike some masks, this one smells amazing. It smells like limes and you’re drinking some tropical drink on a hot summer day. You supposed to leave it on your face for 10 mins but I leave it on for 30 mins. One time I did forget and left it on for 40 mins and my skin started peeling like crazy! So you do have to be careful with this baby because it’s stronger than it looks!

Would I repurchase this? Yes! A million times yes! It’s extremely helpful during summer and when you have a special event. If you’re using this before a special event, I would do it two or three days before the event just in case your skin peels. I just use it once a week so this jar will last you awhile.  So far I’m a fan of the Lancer brand!

Happy masking!
xx

BareMinerals Original Loose Foundation Powder

Hello darlings!

I’m a huge fan of the old school foundation...BareMinerals Original Loose Powder Foundation. I feel like this foundation has been around forever and like everyone has used this.

This was recommended to me by my dermatologist years ago when I was having really bad acne issues. She told me to use only the original version and to use all loose forms of BareMinerals makeup. Even though it’s messy, it’s worth it. My face cleared right up. I guess my skin really doesn’t like liquid foundations.

I know some people have issues with this foundation but I personally love it and get so many compliments when I wear it. It’s natural looking and dewy. But you have to really prep your skin before you apply this. I wear shade Golden Ivory #07 in the winter and shade #13 in the summer. I also mix this with my Savvy Minerals foundation.

Again, even though it’s messy...in my opinion, this gem is worth it.

My Beloved Clarisonic

I love my Clarisonic. It’s my favorite skincare tool ever. My dermatologist isn’t a fan and asked me to stop using but nothing cleans my skin like this baby.

I have two different Clarisonic and they are both old. I tried buying a new one but the company seems like they aren’t producing many products. I hope they aren’t going anywhere!

I use my Clarisonic every night to clean my face from city dirty and sweat. I usually love using this device with a foaming cleanser. The combo is a dream. I use the acne cleansing brush head. I tried using the sensitive head but I didn’t feel as clean.

This travel one is absolutely perfect and goes with me everywhere.

How do you cleanse at night?

Staples in My Beauty Kit

When it comes to eyebrows, ABH knows exactly what she’s doing. I get my brows waxed for ABH I Nordstrom and I swear by them. Absolutely swear by them. This brow gel is the best of the best. I tried a few others (both drugstore and high end) and they did nothing for my brows. The ABH gel is clear, doesn’t flake and holds my brows in place. I lost count of how many times I have purchased. It’s a must have.

I love Laura Mercier’s translucent powder. It’s a cult classic and I know why. It’s light, doesn’t clog pores and doesn’t create any kind of backflash. It’s perfect for summer because it keeps your makeup locked in place. You can’t go wrong with this one.

What are your beauty bag must haves?

My Glam Nars Collection

Hi darlings!!!

Nars is one of my fave beauty brands. Their products are high quality and super pigmented. I feel like they cover a wide range of skin tones. When it’s summer time especially and my complexion is deeper, these are the products I turn to.

I love my bronzer. In the winter I use the shade Laguna but in the summer I use Casino. It’s darker than Laguna but still doesn’t look orange at all.

My all time favorite blush is Orgasm and I have used it since I was 22. It’s the perfect pink/peach color and universally looks amazing on all skin tones. In the summer when I’m darker, I use the color Love Joy. It gives the perfect hint of color.

When it comes to concealer, I have been using Nars Radiant Concealer on and off for a few years. I wear shade 1.5 Macadamia. I also use this as an eyeshadow primer. It doesn’t crease and doesn’t smudge off.

Nars Sheer Glow is dupe for Armani’s Luminous Silk. LS is my all time fave foundation and I have gone through at least 6 bottles.

In Nars Sheer Glow, I usually mix shades Sante Fe and Barcelona. Barcelona is my summer shade. This foundation is light and natural looking. It’s just beautiful. Unfortunately, I can only wear it for a day because I do breakout. Super a bummer.

I use the Nars Loose Powder in Beach to set my face and undereyes. It doesn’t crease and doesn’t leave a flashback.

What’s your favorite glam makeup?

Andalou Naturals Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask

I absolutely love this mask and the price is phenomenal! I paid $7.99 and it was def money well spent!

I use this mask every Sunday and Wednesday and it really helps to clean out my pores. I have very oily skin and it tends to clog easily. This mask has enzymes that helps brighten the skin and sweep away any dead skin. It’s great if you have acne scarring and need help with your skin tone.

What I also love the most is the good for you ingredients. This is a natural product so it’s not going to do bad things to your body or skin. This is a great alternative to the Juice Beauty Peel Mask. (That’s another fave of mine)

Have you tried this mask? What are your favorites?

Amorepacific Enzyme Scrub

I love love love love Amorepacific Enzyme Scrub! I have used this for years and have gone through too many bottles to count!

This scrub is unique as it’s a powder scrub and you can use it daily! I used this exfoliate the entire time I was on accutane. It’s super gently but very effective. It’s important for me to use during the summer months because with all the sweat and makeup, my tends can easily become clogged.

This bottle automatically dispenses the perfect amount of scrub. It is a powder scrub so you have to depends a small amount into the palm of your hands and mix with water. It only needs a small bit of water! I make my own little paste with it and scrub my face for a full 60 seconds. You’ll just glow afterwards! This scrub does have a a scent so just be aware if you’re sensitive to fragrance.

This is pricey but a bottle usually lasts me 2 to 3 months with daily use. You won’t regret this purchase.

What’s your favorite scrub?

Skincare My Dermatologist Loves

We all know our skin can be so temperamental. One day it likes this and the next day it likes that. Super frustrating, annoying, and expensive...

My dermatologist recommended a few products to keep my skin clear and under control.

1. Sunscreen. It’s so important to protect you face against the sun which can cause cancer and aging. He recommended Vanicream and Neutrogena. I liked both and used throughout accutane. I also love the price point!

2. Vanicream Lite Lotion. My dermatologist is obsessed with Vanicream. This light moisturizer can be used on the face. Again, love a good drugstore option without scents!

3. Free and Clear Liquid Cleanser. This is from the makers of Vanicream and you can purchase at Target. It’s light, does a great job with cleaning my face and it’s fragrance free.

4. Retin-A .06%. I love Retin-A and it has helped my skin soooo much. It also helps with aging! If you are having an issue with clogged pores...this will definitely help. Unfortunately, you do need a prescription from your dermatologist. But this is SO worth it!!!!

What are your favorite products for maintaining good skin?

Vanicream Review

Hello loves!

Hope you’re all having a great day! Just wanted to chat a little about Vanicream. My dermatologist LOVES this line. He can go on and on about it. I do like it as well because it doesn’t contain fragrance and it’s super clean. Those are two things I love!

I decided to pick up two items I always go through really quickly...cleanser and moisturizer.

The cleanser is light, did a great job at cleaning my face and contained no fragrance! I use it every morning and evening. In the evening, I remove my makeup with Purity by Philosophy and once my face is clean, then I do a second cleaning with this gem. It was light and cleaned my face really well.

The moisturizer was super light and blended into my skin easily. Again, no fragrance which helps my migraines but I did notice some bumps on my face...so I stopped using.

Overall, my preference is still Cerave. I love that entire line and the products don’t have fragrance either. Granted they do contain icky ingredients which is why I wanted to love Vanicream.

If you’re skin isn’t as sensitive as mine, you should def pick this up! Plus, it’s nice on the wallet. :)

Have you tried Vanicream?

Beekman 1802 Review

Hello darlings!!

I think I’m the last to know but I finally discovered Beekman 1802! I was watching QVC and they offered a TSV set and I decided to jump on it. The founders were so friendly and their story so inspiring that I couldn’t ignore! They call everyone neighbors! I love!

Their soaps and lotions are formulated without dirty ingredients and are natural as they come. They are made from goat milk. The formula are super creamy and lather up so beautifully.

The scents are delicate and nothing too overpowering and just one bar lasts for at least two months with daily use! These gems also make for the perfect gifts. I highly recommend and I will be repurchasing in the future.

I love a good story.

New Chanel Finds

Hello loves!!!

I have been a long time fan of Chanel makeup. It doesn’t make me breakout and it looks so chic and elegant.

I recently went to a Céline Dion concert and went to Macy’s to treat myself to a makeover. I want to look extra chic for Celine!

The rep at Macy’s did the most amazing job on my makeup and used colors I would have never used! I was really nice to switch things up. When I run low on what I currently have, I will be purchasing some of these gems!

I have used Jersey blush for a really long time (about 3 to 4 years I think) and have repurchased 3x. But the rep changed it up and mixed my beloved Jersey with Rose Ecrin. It created the perfect blush! I’ll definitely pick up both shades and recreate the mix. I know it may sound silly to buy two blushes but I love blush so I’ll def get use out of them.

I usually use the Chanel eyeshadow cream pot but they tend to dry out quickly. I’m loving these stick versions! The gold colors are always my fave. You can use them to glam up or you can “dress them down” for everyday wear.

I LOVED this eyeshadow palette. I would have never chosen it myself but I love love love the look it created. I highly recommended. My Chanel eyeshadow palettes usually last me for over a year when I use daily. I def get my money worth!

Have you tried anything from Chanel?

Kosas Bronzer Review

Hi loves!!!!

I have been really into Clean Beauty over the last few years but it still hasn’t worked out for me. I tend to breakout. I think it’s because the ingredients are too pure for me and tend to clog my pores.

In January, I started seeing a holistic doctor and she recommended I try Kosas makeup. She said it was great for sensitive skin. So I went to Credo and picked up this bronzer since it’s the only item missing from my kit. Turns out....

It totally clogged my pores! I’m super bummed out and really loved how it looked on my skin. I received SOOOO many compliments when I wore this. I used my BareMinerals foundation and this bronzer on top. I ordered the shade Contrachroma which is a golden bronze. I just mixed the two colors together and used as one shade. I LOVED the results.

The formula was also super creamy and lasted all day long. Also, a little goes a longggg way. Seriously just a little tab!

I’m so bummed it didn’t work out for me! I’m going to try their lipstick next....lipstick can’t make me breakout right??

Are you a fan of clean beauty?

Lune + Aster Review

Hi darlings!!!

Hope everyone’s having a productive and safe week. So important to stay indoors and hopefully this all is over with soon!

I was introduced to Lune + Aster last year by a blogger. I didn’t have high hopes but foundation is always impossible for me to be happy with, I thought I would give this a try.

I picked up the Skin Tint in shade 25 Sand. It’s the perfect spring time match for me. I love this foundation because it’s paraben free, gluten free and most importantly...vegan! It also has licorice root which helped fade my acne scars. I really like this foundation and most importantly, it doesn’t make break out!

Overall, I love this foundation BUT it does crease and for me...it will melt off during summer. I noticed it started to skip off my face. I started using when I first started accutane and it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

I would recommend this as a winter foundation. I wouldn’t use during the warmer months because it’ll make a mess on my face.

The bronzer was free with purchase! And I really liked how natural looking it is. Also a nice vegan option! It didn’t make me look orange!

I’m excited to try more Lune +Aster products. I love supporting vegan brands and those wanting to improve our society. I hope to see more from them!

Have you tried any Lune + Aster products?

New Nordstrom Beauty Purchases

Hi darlings!!!

I ordered a few things from Nordstrom and I’m super in love with all.

First up is the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder! Everyone loves CT products and surprisingly the only thing I’ve purchased is a lipstick and concealer. Not sure why I hasn’t tried more products! A lot of bloggers have raves about this finishing powder so I had to try. I wear shade 2 medium.

The powder is super finely milled and you can use it to set your under eyes and face. I love being able to use one product for two things. Everyone gives me compliments on my face but I notice an orange tint to my face when I wear it. I feel like it oxidizes my foundation. It could be my imagination but I definitely think so. Would I purchase this again? Yes but I will only use for special events and not daily. The powder will only last you for two months max! For some reason, CT products don’t last long for me!

I do recommend but for special occasions only.

Next up is my fave Chanel lip gloss. I wear shade 722 and this is my 3rd time purchasing this! It’s my absolute fave. You can layer it over lipstick or wear it on its own. It’s the most natural and beautiful shade. It’s a neutral! Chanel lipglosses are not sticky at all. I highly recommend and I’ve already purchased in a different shade. (My girl told me to change it up!)

Giorgio Armani is one of my favorite makeup brands. I love their Eye Tint cream eyeshadows. I wear shade 11 Rose Ashes and get so many compliments. You can wear it alone and it does not crease. I highly recommend but it will dry out in two months. So when you are ready to use this...be prepared to use it for 2 months daily or you’ll be wasting your money.

Have you tried any of these gems?

xoxo

Savvy Minerals Foundation Powder Review

Hi darlings!

Hope everyone’s safe and staying home. I haven’t been outside since Thursday! I’m staying busy and praying for everyone.

Today I’m reviewing Young Loving’s Savvy Minerals Foundation Powder. I’ve really gotten into Young Living over Christmas and have been making monthly purchases. I saw a few people on Instagram use the Savvy line so I was really interested.

Let me start by saying, I have used Bare Minerals on and off for years. So I’m used to powder foundations and know how to apply them. I decided to buy Savvy Minerals Powder Foundation in January and I absolutely LOVE it. I do mix it with my Bare Minerals Original Powder foundation because I bought shade warm 3 and it’s too dark. I have shade warm 2 in my cart now and will mix the two so I get my perfect match. I’m used to having to mix two shades to get my match.

I get soooo many compliments on my makeup. I switched it up one day and used my Nars and I got no complements. I went back to my powder foundation mix and started getting my compliments daily. No lie.

The main difference between Savvy and BareMinerals? It doesn’t have bismuth in it so it doesn’t create the luminous shine like my BareMinerals does. Personally I’m not allergic to bismuth so I never have a problem using BareMinerals.

Another difference? The container. With BareMinerals you have a swifter so you’re able to “lock” the foundation from pouring out. With Savvy, it doesn’t have a stopper so it can get messy pretty fast.

Lastly, Savvy foundation powder is finer milled. BareMinerals seems thicker and more dense.

For the price difference, I’ll probably go back to my BareMinerals BUT I really like Savvy as well. It’s so natural and has really good ingredients. If they ever have a sale, I’ll definitely be making a large purchase!!

Have you tried Savvy Minerals?

Charlotte Tilbury’s Mini Miracle Eye Wand Dynamic Duo Lift and Light Reflector

Hi darlings!!

I hope all is well and you’re having a wonderful week!

Just wanted to hop on and do a quick review of Charlotte Tilbury’s Mini Miracle Eye Wand Dynamic Duo Lift and Light Reflector. Wow that’s a mouthful! Hahaha. I wear shade #3.

I originally purchased this concealer because I was going to Disney for vacation and the concealer I was using left me with major flashback! It was not a cute look. So I went to Nordstrom in search of the perfect concealer. I like light, natural looking and nothing that’s going to make me look older around the eyes. The lovely sales rep sold me on CT. One end of the wand is the eye serum to plump up the under eye area and the other end is the color corrector. I liked this combo!

I purchased the concealer for $45 and was on my way. The end result? My photos looked amazing. No wrinkles and no flashback. Win win for me. But this did come with some negatives….
  1. The price for one….$48 with tax! For me that’s a bit pricey especially when Tarte’s Shape Tape and Nars Radiant Creamy concealer is half the price. Even my beloved Chanel concealer is $43!
  2. The color tends to run orange…not sure if it’s only me but CT products can run a bit on the orange side. I’m a fan of her stuff but you have to go in with a light hand.
  3. It only lasted me 2 months!!! Yes! Only 2 months! So I paid $48 for two months. All of my other concealers last at least 6 months. I was super upset.

Would I repurchase? No. This is way too pricey and out of my budget! I would pass on this and get Tarte or Nars.

Tarte Shape Tape Review

Happy Friday and hope you all had a great week! I wanted to share my new favorite concealer! It’s so funny because this concealer has been around for ages and everyone’s obsessed with it. I’m just the absolute last person to try it. It’s Tarte’s Shape Tape! I heard for years how amazing it is and people weren’t lying!

I have tried YSL, Chanel and Charlotte Tilbury concealers which I absolutely love...but are super pricey. The Charlotte Tilbury concealer only lasted for two months! (I’m writing a separate post on that!) $48 for two months?! It’s just crazy.

After the CT incident, I knew I had to buy something a little more wallet friendly.

I purchased Shape Tape over the holidays when it was 30% off. It was around $25 which was great. A little bit def goes a very long way. You only need a tiny dot underneath each eye and I blend it out with a beauty blender. I wear shade 35S medium sand and it’s the perfect match.

It’s vegan. It’s cruelty free and it’s perfect. I wouldn’t be surprised if one tube lasts me an entire year.

Do I recommend it? YES! Will I repurchase? Hell yeah!

Have a great weekend!
